Acknowledging our leaders of social change at the 58th Annual Freedom Fund Dinner

Where would we be without the fight? Where we would be without justice?

“Today Detroit is still engaged in a great freedom walk … and a campaign to preserve the dignity of all Americans,” said Pelosi, the Democratic House minority leader, in a nod to Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. at the 58th annual Fight for Freedom Fund dinner.

Amongst a crowd of 5000 people, leaders from all over gathered for a greater cause. The fight for education, environmental justice, gender equity, economic justice, health access, voter rights, and community empowerment is still very familiar in Detroit at this day. Our community is suffering. We know its definitely time for positive change!

Our Democratic Leader in the U.S. House of Representatives, Congresswoman Nancy Peloski was the NAACP Detroit Branch 58th Annual Freedom Fund Dinner guest speaker.

Both of my former employers, US Congressman Conyers and US Senator Stabenow shared the same stage and story about fighting for jobs, justice, and peace in Washington DC.

A crowd of 5,000 participants celebrated the fight for freedom.
